Description
15‑Minute Garlic Butter Shrimp is a quick and impressive seafood dish where succulent shrimp are sautéed in garlicky butter, finished with a splash of lemon and herbs. It’s fast, flavorful, and perfect for weeknight dinners or when guests drop in unexpectedly.
Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it bubbles gently.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp in a single layer, cook for 2–3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook another 2–3 minutes until pink and opaque.
- Stir in the lemon juice and red pepper flakes. Toss everything together so the shrimp are well coated in the garlic‑butter sauce.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley just before serving. Serve immediately so the sauce remains glossy and rich.
Notes
- You can swap lime juice for lemon for a different citrus twist.
- Add a handful of grated Parmesan at the end for a richer finish.
- If you prefer more heat, increase the red pepper flakes or add a pinch of smoked paprika.
- Use olive oil or plant‑based butter to make the dish dairy‑free.
- Serve over rice, pasta, crusty bread, or zucchini noodles to soak up the sauce.
