Ingredients

  • 2 slices whole wheat bread
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup canned tomato soup
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese (about 1 oz total)
  • 4 slices turkey breast
  • 1 tsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Heat the tomato soup in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Add salt and black pepper to taste, and warm until steaming.
  2. While the soup heats, spread butter on one side of each bread slice. Spread mayonnaise and mustard on the unbuttered side.
  3. Layer turkey slices and cheddar cheese between the bread slices, keeping buttered sides facing outward.
  4. Place the sandwich in a skillet over medium heat. Cook for about 3 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted.
