A quick, yeast-free homemade bread that’s soft, lightly sweet, and ready in just 20 minutes. Perfect for busy days or when you need fresh bread fast.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease or line a standard loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk milk, vegetable oil, and egg until smooth.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cool in pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool before slicing.
