Description
This 5-Ingredient Football Dip is a creamy, meaty, cheesy crowd-pleaser that’s perfect for game day or any casual gathering. With bold flavors and simple prep, it’s baked until bubbly and always disappears fast.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef (85/15 or 90/10)
- 1 tbsp taco seasoning
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 (8 oz) jar salsa (mild, medium, or hot)
- 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or 9-inch pie plate.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned and no longer pink, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Return beef to low heat, stir in taco seasoning, and cook for 1 minute to blend flavors.
- Spread softened cream cheese evenly over the bottom of the prepared dish.
- Layer seasoned beef over the cream cheese, then pour salsa evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the salsa layer.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling. Broil for 1 minute if desired for a golden top.
Notes
- Drain both beef and salsa well to prevent a watery dip.
- Assemble ahead and refrigerate—add 5–10 minutes to bake time if baking from cold.
- Reheat in oven for best texture; microwave also works.
- Freeze before baking for up to 2 months. Thaw before baking as directed.
- Use a slow cooker for a warm party dip—cook on low for 2 hours, stir occasionally.
