Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Chicken features juicy, bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs coated in a savory garlic-Parmesan seasoning and crisped to perfection in the air fryer. It’s quick, easy, and packed with flavor in every bite.
Ingredients
4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 4–5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, Italian seasoning, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Pat chicken thighs dry and rub with olive oil.
- Rub seasoning mix evenly onto both sides of the chicken.
- Place chicken in the air fryer basket skin side down and cook for 10 minutes.
- Flip and cook for another 6–10 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy.
- Sprinkle half the Parmesan cheese over the chicken, cook 2 minutes, flip, and repeat with remaining Parmesan.
- Check that the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (74°C), ideally up to 185°F–195°F for juiciness.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Boneless, skinless thighs can be used with reduced cooking time.
- Add smoked paprika or red pepper flakes for extra flavor or heat.
- Use grated Parmesan for best texture and adherence.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket to maintain crispiness.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days and reheat in the air fryer.
