Description
These Apple Cinnamon Breakfast Quesadillas combine caramelized apples, warm cinnamon, and melted cheese inside golden, crispy tortillas. A quick, cozy breakfast perfect for any morning or brunch table.
Ingredients
- 4 flour tortillas (8-inch)
- 2 cups apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Optional: maple syrup for serving
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add apples, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft and caramelized. Remove from heat.
- Lay tortillas flat and spoon the apple mixture onto one half of each tortilla. Sprinkle with shredded cheese, then fold each tortilla in half.
- Melt remaining 1 tablespoon butter in the skillet over medium heat. Cook each folded quesadilla for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cheese is melted. Work in batches if needed.
- Let cool slightly before slicing into wedges. Serve warm with maple syrup or a dusting of powdered sugar, if desired.
Notes
- Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for deeper flavor.
- Swap cheddar for cream cheese or mozzarella for a different texture.
- Add chopped walnuts or pecans for crunch.
- Make the apple filling ahead for faster prep in the morning.
