Apple Fritters are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and packed with cinnamon-spiced apples. These easy, homemade fritters are perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a cozy afternoon treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups diced apples (peeled if preferred)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, eggs, and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fold in diced apples. Batter will be thick.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil, frying 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or glazed.
Notes
- Make a glaze with 1 cup powdered sugar, 2–3 tbsp milk, and a splash of vanilla.
- Add nutmeg or allspice for deeper spice flavor.
- Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for more complexity.
- Try baking at 375°F for 20–25 minutes as a lighter option.
- Reheat in oven or air fryer to restore crispiness.
