Description

Apple Fritters are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and packed with cinnamon-spiced apples. These easy, homemade fritters are perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a cozy afternoon treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples (peeled if preferred)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. In another bowl, whisk milk, eggs, and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  3. Fold in diced apples. Batter will be thick.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil, frying 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or glazed.

Notes

  • Make a glaze with 1 cup powdered sugar, 2–3 tbsp milk, and a splash of vanilla.
  • Add nutmeg or allspice for deeper spice flavor.
  • Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for more complexity.
  • Try baking at 375°F for 20–25 minutes as a lighter option.
  • Reheat in oven or air fryer to restore crispiness.
