Description

Crispy, golden Apple Pie Roll Ups filled with cinnamon-spiced apples and creamy cream cheese, rolled in sweet cinnamon sugar. A fun, quick dessert reminiscent of classic apple pie.

Ingredients

  • 5 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and diced (about 5 cups / 750 g)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (100 g)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt (1/8 tsp)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (28 g)
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 10 egg roll wrappers
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100 g)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 large egg white, lightly beaten
  • 3 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • Optional: caramel sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, butter, and water in a baking dish. Toss to coat and bake 15 minutes, stirring halfway, until tender.
  3. Stir in cornstarch slurry, cook 1–2 minutes until thickened, then cool in freezer 10–15 minutes.
  4. Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish; set aside.
  5. Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface. Spread 1–2 tablespoons cream cheese on the lower third, then top with 1–2 tablespoons apple filling.
  6. Fold bottom corner over filling, tuck in sides, roll tightly, and brush top corner with egg white to seal. Repeat for remaining wrappers.
  7. Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry roll ups 3–4 minutes per side until golden, in batches.
  8. Immediately roll fried roll ups in cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Serve warm, optionally with caramel sauce.

Notes

  • Air Fryer Option: Brush roll ups lightly with oil and air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Baked Option: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes until golden.
  • Variations: Add nuts, extra spices, chocolate chips, or berries to the filling.
