Description
Tender broiled lobster tails topped with a silky garlic butter cream sauce for a rich and elegant seafood dinner that comes together quickly with simple ingredients.
Ingredients
- 4 lobster tails, thawed if previously frozen
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper, or to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan or Gruyère cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the broiler on high and position an oven rack about 6 inches below the heat source.
- Using kitchen shears, cut down the top of each lobster shell lengthwise stopping before the tail fin. Gently loosen the meat and lift it over the shell while keeping it attached at the base.
- In a saucepan melt the butter over medium heat and add the minced garlic. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the heavy cream, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes while whisking until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Arrange the prepared lobster tails in a broiler-safe baking dish.
- Spoon the warm garlic butter cream sauce over each lobster tail.
- Sprinkle shredded Parmesan or Gruyère on top if using.
- Broil for 7–10 minutes depending on tail size until the meat is opaque and the tops are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley and additional black pepper.
- Serve immediately with extra sauce spooned over the lobster.
Notes
- Watch closely while broiling to prevent overcooking.
- Thaw frozen lobster tails completely before cooking.
- Add a pinch of crushed red pepper to the sauce for gentle heat.
- Fresh herbs like chives or tarragon can replace parsley.
- Serve with rice, pasta, roasted vegetables, or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
