Description
A creamy and flavorful Cajun Chicken Alfredo made with tender Cajun-seasoned chicken, fettuccine pasta, and a rich garlic parmesan Alfredo sauce with a subtle spicy kick.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 12 ounces fettuccine pasta
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Cook the fettuccine pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Season the chicken breasts with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and allow it to rest before slicing into strips.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt the butter.
- Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.
- Add paprika, onion powder, and red pepper flakes if using. Let the sauce simmer for 3–4 minutes.
- Gradually stir in the grated parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
- Add the cooked pasta and toss until fully coated in the Alfredo sauce.
- Top with sliced Cajun chicken and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Freshly grated parmesan cheese melts better and creates a smoother sauce.
- If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of milk, cream, or chicken broth.
- Cajun seasoning levels can be adjusted depending on preferred spice level.
- Vegetables such as spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers can be added for extra flavor and nutrition.
- This dish is best served immediately while the sauce is creamy.
