Description

Crispy golden egg rolls filled with seasoned ground beef, melted cheddar cheese, and tangy dill pickles, served with a creamy homemade burger-style dipping sauce. These cheeseburger egg rolls are the perfect crunchy twist on a classic comfort food favorite.

Ingredients

  • 17 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup (75 g) finely diced dill pickles
  • 1/4 cup (40 g) finely diced onion
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • About 4 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup (120 g) mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup (for sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard (for sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped dill pickles or relish (for sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (for sauce)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (for sauce)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook 2–3 minutes until softened.
  2. Add ground beef and cook 6–8 minutes, breaking apart, until browned.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir well.
  4. Drain excess grease. Stir in ketchup and mustard, then remove from heat and cool slightly.
  5. Fold in shredded cheddar cheese and diced pickles.
  6. Place an egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape. Add 2–3 tablespoons filling to the center.
  7. Fold bottom corner over filling, fold in sides, and roll tightly. Brush top corner with beaten egg to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
  8. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry egg rolls in batches for 3–4 minutes until golden and crispy.
  9. Drain on paper towels.
  10. Prepare dipping sauce by whisking mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickles, vinegar, garlic powder, and paprika until smooth.
  11. Serve egg rolls warm with dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Avoid overfilling to prevent bursting.
  • Seal edges tightly with beaten egg.
  • Bake at 400°F for 15–18 minutes for a lighter option.
  • Air fry at 375°F for 8–10 minutes.
  • Freeze uncooked egg rolls up to 2 months.
