Description
Savory tortilla wraps filled with seasoned ground beef and melted cheese, then toasted until golden and crispy. These cheesy beef stuffed wraps are quick, hearty, and perfect for an easy weeknight meal or handheld lunch.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced (about 100 g)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (100 g)
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (50 g)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 large flour tortillas (10 inch)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef and cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon until browned and fully cooked.
- Season the beef with paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and cook for another minute.
- Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly. Stir in half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella.
- Lay the tortillas flat and divide the beef mixture evenly among them, placing it in the center.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the filling.
- Fold the sides inward and roll the tortillas tightly to form wraps.
- Place the wraps seam-side down in a clean skillet over medium heat.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until the tortillas are golden and crispy and the cheese is melted.
- Slice in half if desired and serve warm.
Notes
- Warm tortillas slightly before filling to prevent tearing.
- You can add vegetables like bell peppers, corn, or spinach to the beef mixture.
- Monterey Jack or Colby cheese can be used instead of cheddar and mozzarella.
- For extra flavor, add chili powder or red pepper flakes.
- These wraps can also be baked at 190°C (375°F) for about 12–15 minutes.
