Description

These Cheesy Garlic Butter Bombs are warm, fluffy bread rolls filled with a rich mixture of gooey cheese, garlic, butter, and herbs. Perfect as a party appetizer, comforting snack, or side dish, they’re soft on the inside and golden on the outside.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in melted butter (cooled), salt, and egg. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead dough for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
  4. Meanwhile, make the filling by mixing softened butter, garlic, parsley, mozzarella, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
  5. Once dough has risen, punch it down and divide into 12 equal pieces. Flatten each piece, place a spoonful of filling in the center, and seal tightly to form a ball.
  6. Place balls seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Optional: Brush tops with extra melted butter and sprinkle with more parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Try cheddar, provolone, or a cheese blend for different flavors.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Substitute fresh herbs like basil or oregano if parsley isn’t available.
  • Vegan version: Use plant-based butter and cheese.
  • Freeze baked bombs for up to 2 months; reheat at 350°F for best results.
