Description

Cheesy Sloppy Joe Toast is a quick and comforting dish made with crispy toast topped with saucy ground beef and melted cheese. It’s perfect for an easy dinner, lunch, or satisfying snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2/3 cup sloppy joe sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 8 slices bread
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add chopped onion and green bell pepper. Cook until softened.
  3. Stir in sloppy joe sauce, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer for a few minutes to blend flavors.
  4. While simmering, toast bread slices lightly and arrange on a baking sheet.
  5. Spoon sloppy joe mixture evenly over each slice of toast.
  6. Top with shredded cheese.
  7. Broil for a few minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  8. Let cool slightly and serve warm.
