Description

Crispy garlic Texas toast topped with tender seasoned chicken in a creamy Alfredo sauce and finished with melted mozzarella, creating a rich and satisfying comfort meal.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices frozen garlic Texas toast
  • 1 lb (450 g) boneless skinless chicken breast, cubed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups (480 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 cup (100 g) grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup (120 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven according to Texas toast package instructions and bake slices until golden and crispy. Set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 6–8 minutes until fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add heavy cream and let it simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  5. Stir in parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and thick.
  6. Return cooked chicken to the skillet and mix to coat in the Alfredo sauce.
  7. Place toasted bread slices on a baking tray and spoon the chicken Alfredo mixture evenly over each slice.
  8. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Bake for 5–7 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Bake the toast first to keep it crispy after adding toppings.
  • Use freshly grated parmesan for a smoother sauce.
  • Add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Substitute part of the cream with milk for a lighter version.
  • Reheat in the oven to maintain crisp texture.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Avoid freezing as sauce may separate and bread may become soggy.
  • Add chili flakes for a slight spicy kick.
