Description

Chocolate Bird Nests are a fun no-bake treat made with cocoa crispy cereal, creamy peanut butter, and melted chocolate, shaped into nest-like clusters and topped with candy eggs. These festive sweets are perfect for Easter dessert tables or kid-friendly holiday treats.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cocoa Rice Krispies
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 36 Cadbury mini eggs

Instructions

  1. Place the milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until melted and smooth.
  2. Add the peanut butter to the warm melted chocolate and stir until fully combined.
  3. Place the cocoa Rice Krispies in a large bowl.
  4. Pour the chocolate and peanut butter mixture over the cereal and gently stir until all the cereal is evenly coated.
  5. Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin with butter or cooking spray.
  6. Divide the mixture evenly among the muffin cups.
  7. Use the back of a spoon or your fingers to press a small hollow into the center of each mound to form a nest shape.
  8. Place the muffin tin in the refrigerator or freezer until the nests are firm.
  9. Remove the nests from the tin and place 3 Cadbury mini eggs in the center of each nest.
  10. Serve chilled or at cool room temperature.

Notes

  • Press the mixture firmly into the muffin tin so the nests hold their shape.
  • Dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate can be used instead of milk chocolate.
  • Other chocolate crispy cereals can be substituted for cocoa Rice Krispies.
  • If you need a nut-free version, replace peanut butter with sunflower seed butter.
  • Mini muffin tins can be used to create bite-sized nests.
