Description
Chocolate Bird Nests are a fun no-bake treat made with cocoa crispy cereal, creamy peanut butter, and melted chocolate, shaped into nest-like clusters and topped with candy eggs. These festive sweets are perfect for Easter dessert tables or kid-friendly holiday treats.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cocoa Rice Krispies
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 36 Cadbury mini eggs
Instructions
- Place the milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until melted and smooth.
- Add the peanut butter to the warm melted chocolate and stir until fully combined.
- Place the cocoa Rice Krispies in a large bowl.
- Pour the chocolate and peanut butter mixture over the cereal and gently stir until all the cereal is evenly coated.
- Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin with butter or cooking spray.
- Divide the mixture evenly among the muffin cups.
- Use the back of a spoon or your fingers to press a small hollow into the center of each mound to form a nest shape.
- Place the muffin tin in the refrigerator or freezer until the nests are firm.
- Remove the nests from the tin and place 3 Cadbury mini eggs in the center of each nest.
- Serve chilled or at cool room temperature.
Notes
- Press the mixture firmly into the muffin tin so the nests hold their shape.
- Dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate can be used instead of milk chocolate.
- Other chocolate crispy cereals can be substituted for cocoa Rice Krispies.
- If you need a nut-free version, replace peanut butter with sunflower seed butter.
- Mini muffin tins can be used to create bite-sized nests.
