Description
These Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Twists are a fun, buttery treat that combine the familiar flavor of classic chocolate chip cookies with a playful twisted shape. They bake up soft inside with lightly crisp edges and melty chocolate chips throughout.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all‑purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
- Divide the dough into small portions and roll each into a rope. Twist each rope gently and place on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between twists.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the twists to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Substitute white chocolate chips or mini chocolate chips for a different texture.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon to the dough for a warm, spiced flavor.
- Drizzle melted chocolate over cooled twists for extra richness.
- If the dough is too sticky, add a tablespoon of flour at a time until manageable.
- Use salted butter and reduce the added salt if preferred.
