Description
Chocolate Peanut Butter Christmas Trees are no-bake festive treats made with a creamy peanut butter dough dipped in rich chocolate and drizzled with melted chocolate for decoration. Fun to make and perfect for holiday gifting or parties.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup salted butter, melted and cooled
- 2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips (for drizzle)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (for drizzle)
- 1 teaspoon shortening, divided
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix melted butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, until a thick dough forms.
- Roll dough out on parchment paper to about 1/2-inch thickness. Use a tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes.
- Place trees on a baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons shortening in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
- Dip each peanut butter tree into the melted chocolate, coat fully, and return to the tray.
- Melt milk and white chocolate chips separately with 1/2 teaspoon shortening each. Drizzle over the chocolate-coated trees.
- Refrigerate the finished trees until the chocolate is set.
Notes
- Lightly dust cookie cutter with powdered sugar or spray with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Add crushed candy canes, colored sprinkles, or edible glitter for extra festive flair.
- Use almond or cashew butter for variation.
- Add crushed graham crackers or crisped rice for added texture.
- Store in fridge for up to 2 weeks or freeze in layers for longer storage.
