Description

Chocolate Peanut Butter Christmas Trees are no-bake festive treats made with a creamy peanut butter dough dipped in rich chocolate and drizzled with melted chocolate for decoration. Fun to make and perfect for holiday gifting or parties.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips (for drizzle)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (for drizzle)
  • 1 teaspoon shortening, divided

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, until a thick dough forms.
  3. Roll dough out on parchment paper to about 1/2-inch thickness. Use a tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes.
  4. Place trees on a baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  5. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons shortening in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
  6. Dip each peanut butter tree into the melted chocolate, coat fully, and return to the tray.
  7. Melt milk and white chocolate chips separately with 1/2 teaspoon shortening each. Drizzle over the chocolate-coated trees.
  8. Refrigerate the finished trees until the chocolate is set.

Notes

  • Lightly dust cookie cutter with powdered sugar or spray with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • Add crushed candy canes, colored sprinkles, or edible glitter for extra festive flair.
  • Use almond or cashew butter for variation.
  • Add crushed graham crackers or crisped rice for added texture.
  • Store in fridge for up to 2 weeks or freeze in layers for longer storage.
