Description

A warm and comforting cobbler made with soft cinnamon roll pieces baked over sweet apple pie filling and finished with a drizzle of icing for a simple dessert that tastes like apple pie and cinnamon rolls combined.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls (12.4 oz / 352 g each), icing included
  • 2 cans apple pie filling (21 oz / 595 g each)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9 × 13-inch baking dish.
  2. Open the cinnamon roll cans and set the icing packets aside.
  3. Cut each cinnamon roll into four pieces.
  4. Spread the apple pie filling evenly across the bottom of the baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the apples and gently mix.
  6. Arrange the cinnamon roll pieces evenly over the apple filling leaving small gaps.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow the cobbler to cool for 5–10 minutes.
  9. Warm the reserved icing slightly and drizzle it over the cobbler.
  10. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

  • Leave small gaps between the cinnamon roll pieces so the apple filling can bubble through.
  • Adding chopped pecans or walnuts gives the cobbler extra crunch.
  • For more spice, add a pinch of nutmeg or apple pie spice.
  • A drizzle of caramel sauce after baking adds extra sweetness.
  • This dessert tastes best served warm.
