Ingredients
- For the dough:
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water (110°F / 43°C)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- For the cinnamon sugar topping:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- Optional vanilla glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 to 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add oil and salt, then gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
- Turn out onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 45–60 minutes until doubled.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a round baking or pizza pan.
- Punch down the dough and press it evenly into the prepared pan (10–12 inches wide).
- Brush with melted butter. Mix sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the top.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until the edges are golden and the center is cooked through.
- If using glaze, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Drizzle over warm pizza.
- Slice and serve warm.
