Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in milk and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing just until incorporated.
- Pour half the batter into the pan, sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar topping over it.
- Layer the rest of the batter on top, then sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar.
- Use a knife to gently swirl the layers.
- Bake 50–60 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool bread in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
