Description

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup granulated sugar (for topping)

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in milk and vanilla.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing just until incorporated.
  6. Pour half the batter into the pan, sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar topping over it.
  7. Layer the rest of the batter on top, then sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar.
  8. Use a knife to gently swirl the layers.
  9. Bake 50–60 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Cool bread in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
