Description

Quick and comforting cinnamon sugar French toast roll-ups with a soft interior and golden crispy exterior, coated in sweet cinnamon sugar for a delicious breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

  • 6 slices soft bread (white or brioche)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons (25 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons (28 g) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon until well combined.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Flatten each slice of bread using a rolling pin or your hands.
  4. Brush each slice lightly with melted butter and sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  5. Roll each slice tightly into a log shape and secure with toothpicks if needed.
  6. Heat a lightly greased skillet over medium heat.
  7. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, coating all sides without soaking.
  8. Place in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove from skillet, discard toothpicks, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use soft bread like brioche for best results.
  • Do not soak the bread too long to avoid sogginess.
  • Add fillings like cream cheese, chocolate, or fruit for variation.
  • Reheat in a skillet or toaster oven to maintain crispiness.
  • Great for kids and easy to customize.
