- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For Cinnamon Sugar Topping:
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and sugar.
- In another bowl, mix the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
- Fold the wet ingredients into the dry just until combined—do not overmix.
- Transfer batter to a piping bag and pipe into the donut pan, filling each cavity halfway.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden and springy. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Mix cinnamon and sugar in a shallow bowl for the topping.
- Brush each warm donut with melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar until coated.
- Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy!
Notes
- Don’t overmix the batter—this keeps the donuts soft and airy.
- Customize with chocolate glaze, vanilla icing, or chopped nuts for variety.
- You can bake in a muffin tin if you don’t have a donut pan (increase bake time slightly).
