Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup toffee bits
- 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk melted butter and brown sugar together until smooth.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt just until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips, toffee bits, and shredded coconut.
- Spread dough evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 22–26 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and center is just set.
- Cool completely before removing from pan and slicing into bars.
Notes
- Slightly underbake for softer, chewier bars.
- Bars slice best once fully cooled.
- Warm briefly before serving for a fresh-baked texture.
