Description
This Cozy Crockpot Apple Cider is a warm, spiced fall drink made by slow-cooking apples, oranges, and whole spices. Naturally sweet and aromatic, it’s perfect for chilly days, festive gatherings, or a relaxing evening at home.
Ingredients
- 10 medium apples (Gala, Fuji, Granny Smith mix), quartered
- 1 orange, sliced
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tbsp whole cloves
- 1 tbsp allspice berries
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (adjust to taste)
- 10 cups water
Instructions
- Wash and quarter apples (no need to peel or core). Slice the orange into rounds.
- Place apples, orange, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and allspice in a crockpot.
- Pour in water to cover all ingredients. Cover and cook on high for 3–4 hours or low for 6–8 hours.
- Once fruit is soft, mash gently with a potato masher to release juices.
- Strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth, pressing solids to extract liquid.
- Return cider to pot and stir in brown sugar until dissolved.
- Serve warm, garnished with a cinnamon stick or orange slice.
Notes
- Add fresh ginger slices for extra warmth.
- Use maple syrup instead of brown sugar for natural sweetness.
- Stir in vanilla extract for deeper flavor.
- Spike with bourbon, rum, or whiskey for an adult version.
- Freeze leftovers for up to 3 months; reheat gently on stovetop or crockpot.
