Description

Creamy Garlic Butter Beef Penne with Sausage and Spinach is a hearty, flavorful one-pan pasta dish combining savory beef, Italian sausage, tender spinach, and penne tossed in a rich garlic cream sauce. It’s perfect for family dinners or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound penne pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound beef Italian-style sausage, casings removed
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups fresh spinach
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook penne pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and sausage. Cook until browned, breaking apart the meat. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Stir until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and simmer for 2 minutes, scraping up any browned bits.
  5. Add heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Stir until sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Season with salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  7. Add spinach and stir until wilted.
  8. Mix in the cooked penne and toss until evenly coated in the sauce.
  9. Serve warm, garnished with extra Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • Use rigatoni or rotini instead of penne for variation.
  • Replace half the cream with milk for a lighter version.
  • Add mushrooms, bell peppers, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra vegetables.
  • Reheat gently with a splash of cream or broth to maintain creaminess.
