Creamy Lemon Herb Butter Ravioli is a quick and elegant one-pan pasta dish featuring cheese ravioli simmered in a lemony, herbed cream sauce enriched with garlic, shallots, and Parmigiano Reggiano.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 small shallot, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh tarragon, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons finely grated lemon zest
- 1 pound refrigerated cheese ravioli
- 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano
- Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shallot and cook until translucent, about 1–2 minutes.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30–60 seconds, then add tarragon and thyme, cooking 30 seconds more.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add broth, cream, wine, lemon juice, and zest; whisk to combine.
- Add ravioli and stir gently. Cover and simmer 5–7 minutes, stirring once, until tender.
- Uncover and stir in Parmigiano Reggiano. Remove from heat and let stand 1–2 minutes to thicken.
- Season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately with extra cheese.
Notes
- Use spinach-ricotta, mushroom, or lobster ravioli for variety.
- Add spinach, peas, mushrooms, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra veggies.
- Omit wine and use extra broth plus lemon for an alcohol-free version.
- Finish with capers or red pepper flakes for extra dimension.
