Description

Crock Pot Brown Sugar Pineapple Steak is a tender slow-cooked beef dish simmered in a sweet and savory glaze made with brown sugar, honey, and pineapple juice, creating a rich sauce that perfectly coats the steak.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef steak (such as chuck steak or sliced beef steak)
  • 3 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup raw natural honey
  • 1 can (20 ounces) pineapple tidbits or chunks with juice

Instructions

  1. Add 2 cups of packed brown sugar to the bottom of a large slow cooker (at least 6 quarts).
  2. Place the beef steak directly on top of the brown sugar layer.
  3. Pour the honey evenly over the steak.
  4. Add the pineapple tidbits along with the juice around the steak and scatter some on top.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar evenly over the steak.
  6. Cover the slow cooker with the lid.
  7. Cook on low for 4–5 hours until the steak becomes tender and absorbs the sweet pineapple glaze.
  8. Allow the steak to rest for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Chuck steak works best because it becomes very tender during slow cooking.
  • You can reduce the brown sugar slightly for a less sweet glaze.
  • Adding onions or bell peppers can give the dish more savory balance.
  • Searing the steak beforehand can add extra depth of flavor but is optional.
  • Serve with rice or roasted vegetables to soak up the sweet sauce.
