Description
Crock Pot Brown Sugar Pineapple Steak is a tender slow-cooked beef dish simmered in a sweet and savory glaze made with brown sugar, honey, and pineapple juice, creating a rich sauce that perfectly coats the steak.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef steak (such as chuck steak or sliced beef steak)
- 3 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup raw natural honey
- 1 can (20 ounces) pineapple tidbits or chunks with juice
Instructions
- Add 2 cups of packed brown sugar to the bottom of a large slow cooker (at least 6 quarts).
- Place the beef steak directly on top of the brown sugar layer.
- Pour the honey evenly over the steak.
- Add the pineapple tidbits along with the juice around the steak and scatter some on top.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar evenly over the steak.
- Cover the slow cooker with the lid.
- Cook on low for 4–5 hours until the steak becomes tender and absorbs the sweet pineapple glaze.
- Allow the steak to rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Chuck steak works best because it becomes very tender during slow cooking.
- You can reduce the brown sugar slightly for a less sweet glaze.
- Adding onions or bell peppers can give the dish more savory balance.
- Searing the steak beforehand can add extra depth of flavor but is optional.
- Serve with rice or roasted vegetables to soak up the sweet sauce.
