Description
This cucumber lime mint agua fresca is a refreshing and hydrating summer drink made with crisp cucumber, zesty lime juice, fresh mint, and a touch of sugar. It’s light, vibrant, and ready in just 15 minutes.
Ingredients
1 pound cucumbers (about 2 medium), coarsely chopped with peel on
1/2 cup fresh lime juice (from about 5–10 limes)
1 1/4 cups packed fresh mint leaves, woody stems removed
1/2 cup sugar
Approximately 1 1/4 cups water
Instructions
- Add cucumber, lime juice, mint leaves, sugar, and water to a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing with a spoon to extract juice.
- Fill a large pitcher halfway with ice and pour the strained juice over the ice.
- Stir well and serve cold, garnished with mint sprigs and lime slices if desired.
Notes
- Swap still water with sparkling for a fizzy version.
- Use basil or lemon balm instead of mint for a different herbal note.
- Substitute sugar with honey, agave, or another sweetener of choice.
- Blend in fruit like pineapple or watermelon for a tropical twist.
- Add a thin slice of jalapeño for a spicy version.
