Description

A creamy and flavorful dill dip made with sour cream, mayonnaise, and herbs. Perfect for dipping veggies, chips, or as a sandwich spread.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped (or 2 teaspoons dried dill)
  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion (or 1 teaspoon onion powder)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper (optional, or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Wash, dry, and finely chop the fresh dill if using.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream and mayonnaise until smooth.
  3. Add dill, garlic powder, minced onion (or onion powder), lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir until fully combined. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream.
  • Use dried dill if fresh is unavailable—2 teaspoons dried equals 3 tablespoons fresh.
  • Add chives or green onion for extra flavor and freshness.
  • Chilling the dip enhances the flavor significantly.
  • Stir well before serving if the dip separates in the fridge.
