Description
A creamy and flavorful dill dip made with sour cream, mayonnaise, and herbs. Perfect for dipping veggies, chips, or as a sandwich spread.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sour cream
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped (or 2 teaspoons dried dill)
- ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon dried minced onion (or 1 teaspoon onion powder)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper (optional, or to taste)
Instructions
- Wash, dry, and finely chop the fresh dill if using.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream and mayonnaise until smooth.
- Add dill, garlic powder, minced onion (or onion powder), lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Stir until fully combined. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream.
- Use dried dill if fresh is unavailable—2 teaspoons dried equals 3 tablespoons fresh.
- Add chives or green onion for extra flavor and freshness.
- Chilling the dip enhances the flavor significantly.
- Stir well before serving if the dip separates in the fridge.
