Ingredients
- 1 9-inch all butter pie crust, homemade or store-bought
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Stir until smooth.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well blended.
- Stir in the salt and baking soda.
- Gently fold in the flour just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts, if using.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pie crust.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the top is golden and the center is just set.
- Let the pie cool before slicing for clean, firm pieces.
