Description

Crispy golden fried cheese bites with a crunchy coating and a gooey mozzarella center, perfect as a quick snack or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 10 oz mozzarella string cheese (about 10 sticks)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Italian-style bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut each mozzarella stick into bite-sized pieces (1 to 2 inches long).
  2. Prepare three bowls: one with flour, one with whisked eggs and milk, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Dip each cheese piece into flour, then egg mixture, then breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Repeat egg and breadcrumb coating for a thicker crust.
  5. Place coated pieces on a tray and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Heat oil to 175°C (350°F) in a deep pan.
  7. Fry cheese bites in batches for 1–2 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve immediately while hot.
