Description

These French Dip Tortilla Roll Ups are a fun, easy twist on the classic French dip sandwich, with crispy golden tortillas wrapped around savory roast beef and melted cheese, served with warm au jus for dipping.

Ingredients

  • 8 large flour tortillas
  • 1 lb deli roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 3 cups water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, salt, and pepper.
  3. Lay the flour tortillas flat on a clean surface. Evenly layer roast beef over each tortilla, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  4. Roll each tortilla up tightly and place seam‑side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Brush the seasoned butter over the tops of the roll ups.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the tortillas are golden and crispy and the cheese is melted.
  7. Meanwhile, prepare the au jus: bring water to a boil, whisk in the gravy mix, and simmer until smooth and warm.
  8. Slice the roll ups in half and serve warm with the au jus on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Add caramelized onions or sautéed mushrooms inside the roll ups for extra flavor.
  • Swiss cheese is a great alternative for a more traditional French dip profile.
  • Spread a thin layer of horseradish sauce or creamy garlic spread on the tortillas before adding the beef for extra richness.
  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, flipping halfway, for an alternative crispy finish.
  • Serve with fries, chips, or a green salad alongside the au jus.
