Description

A crispy garlic bread grilled cheese sandwich with buttery garlic flavor on the outside and a gooey blend of melted cheeses inside. This quick comfort meal combines the rich taste of garlic bread with the classic appeal of grilled cheese.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick white bread
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, olive oil, minced garlic, parsley, garlic powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place two slices of bread butter-side down on a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Sprinkle the mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan cheeses evenly over the bread slices in the pan.
  5. Top with the remaining bread slices with the garlic butter side facing up.
  6. Cook for about 3 to 4 minutes until the bottom becomes golden brown.
  7. Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook another 3 to 4 minutes until the second side is golden and the cheese is fully melted.
  8. Remove from the skillet, allow to cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use thick-cut bread so it holds up well during grilling.
  • Cook on medium or medium-low heat to allow the cheese to melt without burning the bread.
  • Cover the pan with a lid for a minute to help the cheese melt faster.
  • You can substitute sourdough or artisan bread for extra flavor.
  • Add tomatoes, mushrooms, or spinach for extra texture and flavor.
