Description
A crispy garlic bread grilled cheese sandwich with buttery garlic flavor on the outside and a gooey blend of melted cheeses inside. This quick comfort meal combines the rich taste of garlic bread with the classic appeal of grilled cheese.
Ingredients
- 4 slices thick white bread
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, olive oil, minced garlic, parsley, garlic powder, and salt until well combined.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place two slices of bread butter-side down on a skillet over medium heat.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan cheeses evenly over the bread slices in the pan.
- Top with the remaining bread slices with the garlic butter side facing up.
- Cook for about 3 to 4 minutes until the bottom becomes golden brown.
- Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook another 3 to 4 minutes until the second side is golden and the cheese is fully melted.
- Remove from the skillet, allow to cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use thick-cut bread so it holds up well during grilling.
- Cook on medium or medium-low heat to allow the cheese to melt without burning the bread.
- Cover the pan with a lid for a minute to help the cheese melt faster.
- You can substitute sourdough or artisan bread for extra flavor.
- Add tomatoes, mushrooms, or spinach for extra texture and flavor.
