Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can refrigerated pizza dough (about 13.8 oz) or 1 sheet prepared pizza dough
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef for about 4 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Add the diced onion and continue cooking until the beef is browned and the onion is soft.
- Drain excess grease and stir in garlic powder, salt, black pepper, ketchup, and mustard. Cook for another minute, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about 10 × 14 inches.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
- Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log.
- Slice the log into 8–10 pieces and place them cut side up on the prepared baking sheet.
- Mix melted butter with minced garlic and parsley and brush the mixture over the tops.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Let cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Roll the dough tightly to help keep the rollups from unrolling during baking.
- Different cheeses like mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or a blend can be used.
- Add diced pickles or relish for a classic cheeseburger flavor.
- Brush extra garlic butter halfway through baking for richer flavor.
