Description

Quick and easy garlic cheese bread with a golden, bubbly cheese topping and soft, buttery interior — perfect as a side or snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf country French bread
  • 2 garlic cloves, pressed
  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 oz medium cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic, mayonnaise, cheddar, and mozzarella until well combined.
  3. Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise and place cut-side up on the baking sheet.
  4. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over each bread half.
  5. Broil for 3–5 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly browned.
  6. Let cool slightly to set the cheese, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Watch closely while broiling to prevent burning.
  • Customize with different cheeses or herbs for variation.
  • Prepare topping in advance and refrigerate until ready to broil.
  • Freezes well for quick reheating later.
