Description

This Ground Beef Pepper Stir-Fry is a quick, savory dish made with tender ground beef, crisp bell peppers, and a flavorful Asian-inspired sauce. It’s a perfect weeknight meal that comes together in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
  • For the sauce:
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ cup beef broth or water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add diced onion and sauté for 2 minutes until softened.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef, breaking it up, and cook until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
  5. Add bell peppers and cook for 3–4 minutes until slightly softened.
  6. In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, broth, black pepper, and sesame oil.
  7. Pour sauce into skillet and stir to coat everything. Cook 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  8. Add red pepper flakes, stir, and remove from heat.
  9. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Use ground chicken or turkey for a lighter version.
  • Add mushrooms or snap peas to increase vegetables.
  • Skip red pepper flakes for a milder flavor.
  • Use tamari and gluten-free sauces to make this gluten-free.
  • Reheat with a splash of water to loosen sauce.
