A creamy, smoky, and slightly spicy chipotle sauce made with Greek yogurt and simple spices, offering a healthier and flavorful alternative to traditional sauces.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (120 g)
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (30 g)
- 1 tablespoon chipotle in adobo sauce or 1 teaspoon chipotle powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (15 ml)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley or coriander (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix Greek yogurt and mayonnaise until smooth.
- Add chipotle, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
- Add lemon juice and olive oil, whisking until creamy and combined.
- Fold in chopped parsley or coriander if using.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Cover and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Adjust spice level by adding more or less chipotle.
- For a lighter version, replace mayonnaise with extra yogurt.
- Use lime juice instead of lemon for a different flavor.
- Blend for a smoother texture if desired.
