Description

Hissy Fit Dip is a creamy, cheesy, sausage-packed baked appetizer that’s perfect for parties, game days, and gatherings. Loaded with sharp cheddar, mozzarella, spicy sausage, and Rotel, this indulgent dip is impossible to resist and always disappears fast.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (10 oz) can Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or green onions, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and crumbly. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in cooked sausage, drained Rotel, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella until well combined.
  5. Spread mixture into prepared baking dish and bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
  6. Let cool slightly and garnish with chopped parsley or green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Use reduced-fat dairy or Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
  • Add jalapeños or more cayenne for extra heat.
  • Make it vegetarian with sautéed mushrooms or black beans instead of sausage.
  • Top with extra cheese for a golden crust.
  • Keep warm in a slow cooker for serving at parties.
