Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella or mixed)
- 2 tablespoons softened butter
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon milk (for brushing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Add warm milk and olive oil, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Punch down the dough and divide into 8–10 portions.
- Flatten each piece, spread butter, and add shredded cheese in the center.
- Fold and seal edges to form rolls.
- Place on a lined baking tray, cover, and let rest for 20–30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Brush rolls with egg yolk mixed with milk.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving.
