Description

Cheeseburger Egg Rolls are crispy fried rolls filled with seasoned ground beef, melted cheddar cheese, pickles, and classic burger condiments, creating a crunchy appetizer with all the flavors of a cheeseburger.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced dill pickles
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  2. Add the diced onion and cook for about 3 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and black pepper and mix well.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in ketchup, mustard, diced pickles, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape.
  6. Add about 3 tablespoons of the filling in the center of the wrapper.
  7. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, fold the side corners inward, and roll tightly toward the top corner.
  8. Brush the top corner with the egg mixture to seal the egg roll.
  9. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  10. Heat vegetable oil to 175°C (350°F) in a deep skillet or pot.
  11. Fry the egg rolls in batches for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  12. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil.
  13. Serve warm with ketchup, mustard, or burger sauce.

Notes

  • Add diced jalapeños or chili flakes for a spicier version.
  • Cheddar can be replaced with mozzarella or Colby jack cheese.
  • For a lighter option bake the egg rolls at 200°C (400°F) for about 15 minutes.
  • Cook in an air fryer at 190°C (375°F) for 8 to 10 minutes for a crisp result.
  • Ensure oil is hot enough before frying to avoid greasy egg rolls.
