Description

A simple and indulgent strawberry cheesecake dump cake featuring layers of sweet strawberry filling, creamy cheesecake, and a buttery golden cake topping baked into a warm comforting dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix (about 15.25 oz / 432 g)
  • 1 can (21 oz / 595 g) strawberry pie filling
  • 8 oz (226 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100 g)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk (120 ml)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted (57 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the prepared dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the cheesecake mixture evenly over the strawberry filling.
  5. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the cheesecake layer without stirring.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter evenly across the cake mix.
  7. Sprinkle cinnamon lightly on top if using.
  8. Bake for 40–45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
  9. Allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
  10. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter is evenly drizzled so the cake mix fully bakes into a golden topping.
  • Yellow, vanilla, or butter cake mix all work well for this recipe.
  • Fresh strawberries can be used if cooked first with sugar and cornstarch to create a pie-like filling.
  • Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
  • Chopped nuts such as almonds or walnuts can be added for a crunchy topping.
