Description

Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet is a rich one-pan meal featuring juicy chicken breasts cooked in a buttery honey-garlic sauce with smoky paprika for a perfectly balanced sweet and savory flavor.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 67 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, honey, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 5–6 minutes on each side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  5. Pour the chicken broth into the same skillet to deglaze the pan, scraping up the browned bits from the bottom.
  6. Add the prepared butter mixture to the skillet and stir continuously until it melts and forms a smooth sauce.
  7. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the chicken.
  8. Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for 2–3 minutes so it absorbs the flavors.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Chicken thighs can be used instead of chicken breasts for a juicier result.
  • Cook the sauce over medium or medium-low heat to prevent the butter from separating.
  • Add a splash of chicken broth while reheating if the sauce thickens too much.
  • For extra richness, stir in a little heavy cream after the butter mixture melts.
  • This dish pairs well with rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.
