Description
Soft, chewy, and fruity homemade gummies made with real fruit juice and gelatin. A fun, customizable, and kid-friendly treat that’s easy to make at home.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (240 ml) 100% fruit juice (apple, grape, orange, or mixed)
- 3 tablespoons (30 g) unflavored powdered gelatin
- 2 tablespoons (40 ml) honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
Instructions
- Bloom the gelatin: Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of gelatin over 2 tablespoons of fruit juice in a small bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes to absorb the liquid.
- Heat the juice: In a small saucepan, combine remaining fruit juice, honey, and lemon juice. Heat gently over medium heat until it begins to simmer, stirring to dissolve the honey.
- Combine ingredients: Remove from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved and smooth.
- Pour into molds: Carefully pour the mixture into silicone molds using a small pitcher or dropper.
- Chill: Refrigerate for 2–4 hours or until gummies are firm.
- Remove and serve: Pop the gummies out of the molds and enjoy immediately, or store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Juice flavors: Mix and match apple, grape, orange, or berry juices for variety.
- Sour gummies: Add extra lemon juice or a pinch of citric acid for tartness.
- Vegan option: Substitute agar-agar for gelatin, adjusting quantity per package instructions.
- Layered gummies: Pour one flavor, let set, then pour another for layers.
