Description

Honey Garlic Chicken Stir Fry is a quick and flavorful one-pan meal featuring tender chicken strips tossed with bell peppers and onions in a sweet and savory sticky honey garlic sauce. Ready in just 20 minutes, it’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chicken breast, thinly sliced (about 450 g)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced (about 3 cloves)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 large bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, black pepper, cornstarch, and water until smooth.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add sliced chicken in a single layer and cook 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add remaining olive oil to the pan. Stir fry onion and bell pepper for 3–4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
  5. Return cooked chicken to the pan.
  6. Pour sauce over chicken and vegetables. Stir to coat evenly.
  7. Cook 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  8. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Avoid overcooking chicken to keep it tender.
  • Add extra cornstarch slurry for a thicker sauce if desired.
  • Use tamari for a gluten-free option.
  • Store refrigerated up to 3 days.
  • Add a splash of water when reheating if sauce thickens.
