Description

Honey Garlic Chicken with Mushrooms is a quick and flavorful skillet meal made with tender chicken breast, sautéed mushrooms, and a sweet-savory garlic soy glaze. It’s a perfect weeknight dinner that comes together in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts, sliced thin
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped green onions or sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, water, and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Season sliced chicken lightly with salt and black pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken slices and cook for 4–5 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through. Remove from pan and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add mushrooms and cook for about 3 minutes until softened.
  5. Pour in the honey garlic sauce and stir until it begins to thicken.
  6. Return chicken to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce. Simmer for 2–3 more minutes until everything is heated through and coated evenly.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds before serving if desired.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier, richer version.
  • Swap mushrooms for bell peppers or snap peas for variety.
  • Add red pepper flakes or chili sauce for heat.
  • Finish with a small knob of butter for extra richness.
