Description
Honey Garlic Chicken with Mushrooms is a quick and flavorful skillet meal made with tender chicken breast, sautéed mushrooms, and a sweet-savory garlic soy glaze. It’s a perfect weeknight dinner that comes together in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 chicken breasts, sliced thin
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Optional garnish: chopped green onions or sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, water, and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.
- Season sliced chicken lightly with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken slices and cook for 4–5 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through. Remove from pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add mushrooms and cook for about 3 minutes until softened.
- Pour in the honey garlic sauce and stir until it begins to thicken.
- Return chicken to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce. Simmer for 2–3 more minutes until everything is heated through and coated evenly.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds before serving if desired.
Notes
- Use chicken thighs for a juicier, richer version.
- Swap mushrooms for bell peppers or snap peas for variety.
- Add red pepper flakes or chili sauce for heat.
- Finish with a small knob of butter for extra richness.
