Description

A chickle is a quick and crunchy snack made by wrapping dill pickle spears in golden, crispy cheddar cheese. This two-ingredient recipe is bold, salty, and perfect for parties or casual snacking.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices mild cheddar cheese
  • 8 dill pickle spears

Instructions

  1. Bring cheese slices to room temperature for even melting.
  2. Pat pickle spears dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat until hot.
  4. Place 1–3 cheese slices in the skillet at a time, depending on comfort level.
  5. When cheese starts to bubble, place a pickle spear slightly off-center on each slice.
  6. Once cheese is crisp enough to lift, fold one side over the pickle, then fold the other side to fully wrap it.
  7. Gently roll the chickle in the skillet if needed to brown all sides evenly.
  8. Remove from skillet when cheese is golden and crisp. Repeat with remaining ingredients.

Notes

  • Let cheese warm to room temp before cooking for smoother melting.
  • Use garlic or spicy dill pickles for variation.
  • Try adding a slice of salami for a meatier twist.
  • Stick with mild cheddar to avoid overpowering the pickle flavor.
  • Serve with dipping sauces like ranch, spicy mayo, or honey mustard.
