Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds (750 g) chicken thighs, boneless or bone-in
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Honey Garlic Sauce:
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon sugar or brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons water or chicken broth
- 3 small dashes cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix honey, sugar, soy sauce, water or broth, and cayenne. Stir until dissolved.
- Turn on Instant Pot’s sauté mode. Add 1 tbsp oil and sear chicken 3 minutes per side until browned. Set aside in pot.
- Add remaining 1/2 tbsp oil and minced garlic. Sauté for 20–30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour honey garlic sauce over chicken. Seal lid and pressure cook on high for 10 minutes.
- Do a quick release. Open lid and spoon sauce over chicken. Garnish with parsley and serve.
Notes
- Use chicken breasts instead of thighs; reduce pressure time to 7–8 minutes.
- Add grated ginger to sauce for extra depth.
- Thicken sauce post-cooking using sauté mode.
- Double the sauce if serving with rice or noodles.
