Description

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk flour and salt. Make a well in the center.
  3. Pour in the yeast mixture and ¼ cup melted butter. Stir to form a rough dough.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide into 12 pieces. Shape each into a ball.
  7. Place rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Mix remaining butter with minced garlic and brush half over rolls.
  8. Let rise again for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Brush with remaining garlic butter and sprinkle with parsley if desired.
