  • 6 oz Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, cut into wedges
  • 8 oz brie or camembert cheese wheel
  • 6 oz white sharp cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 6 oz manchego cheese, sliced or cubed
  • 6 oz halal beef salami, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz halal turkey salami, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Castelvetrano olives, pitted
  • 1 cup Kalamata olives, pitted
  • 1 cup red seedless grapes
  • 1 cup green seedless grapes
  • 1 blood orange, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup Marcona almonds or roasted almonds
  • 1 cup heirloom tomatoes, sliced
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella slices
  • 10 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for brushing
  • 1 cup assorted plain crackers
  • 1 cup flatbread crackers
  • 1/3 cup pesto sauce (optional)
  • 1/3 cup sun-dried tomatoes (optional)
  • 1/3 cup roasted sweet peppers (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fig jam (optional)
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup garlic parmesan butter crostini (optional)
  • 1/2 cup prepared bruschetta topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Select a large wooden or marble charcuterie board and place small bowls on the board for olives, nuts, and spreads.
  2. Slice cheddar and manchego cheeses into cubes or wedges and cut Parmigiano-Reggiano into rustic chunks.
  3. Place the brie or camembert wheel on the board and cut a small wedge for easy serving.
  4. Arrange burrata or mozzarella balls in a small dish.
  5. Fold or roll slices of halal beef and turkey salami into decorative shapes and arrange them between the cheeses.
  6. Preheat the oven broiler. Brush baguette slices with olive oil and broil for 3–4 minutes until lightly golden. Let cool.
  7. Arrange a caprese section by layering mozzarella slices, tomatoes, and basil leaves. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze and sprinkle with sea salt.
  8. Place clusters of grapes and blood orange slices around the board.
  9. Fill small bowls with olives and almonds and place them across the board.
  10. Add bowls of pesto, fig jam, ricotta, mascarpone, roasted peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, or bruschetta if desired.
  11. Arrange crackers and toasted baguette slices around the remaining spaces.
  12. Fill any empty gaps with extra fruit, nuts, or herbs to complete the presentation.

Notes

  • Use cheeses with different textures such as soft, semi-soft, and hard for variety.
  • Arrange larger items first, then fill in gaps with smaller ingredients.
  • Fresh herbs can enhance the board’s visual appeal.
  • Prepare the board up to 2 hours ahead and refrigerate lightly covered.
  • Bring cheeses to room temperature before serving for best flavor.
  • Halal beef or turkey salami can replace traditional cured meats.
